I have been working in the motor industry all my working life. I completed my 4 year City and Guilds Apprenticeship in 1986 while working for Renault / VW Dealership. Once qualified I went to work for an Alpha Romeo / Daihatsu Dealership.
I was then very fortunate to be offered a job as an AA Patrolman which I enjoyed for several years. This experience allowed me to work on a vast range of vehicles and I gained an invaluable understanding and knowledge of different cars / motorcycles of all ages.
After the AA I moved with my wife to Orlando in Florida where I opened my own garage. This gave me the opportunity to gain an extensive knowledge of American vehicles again of all ages.
During the 18 years I was there I also acquired several classic cars – mini’s, MG’s, Cadillac, Oldsmobile Delta 88 to name but a few. We had fun attending car shows in several states and meeting fellow enthusiasts. I also enjoyed a number of more exciting pursuits, for example drag racing, quarter mile dirt oval racing and power boating. I also was involved in maintaining the motorcycles for a schoolboy motocross team.
In 2010 I returned with my family (wife and two daughters) back to the UK. Initially I worked for a Kia / Triumph Dealership until I was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to work for Miklos Salamon a fanatic classic motorcycle collector. In June 2014 I assisted in the opening of 2WheelsMiklos and was employed as a restorer / mechanic for some amazing motorcycles as you can see on www.2wheelsmiklos.com. Sadly due to his ill health the shop closed which gave me the opportunity to start up David Rose Classics.
